Toxicity is the harmful effects of a substance on organisms.
Sometimes referred to as LD50 or the lethal dose is the amount of an ingested substance that will kill 50% of the sample group. In cleaning validation, understanding the cleaning agent toxicity is not only important from a personnel safety perspective, but it's also used to determine residue limits.
