Swab is defined in the ISPE Guide: Cleaning Validation Lifecycle - Applications, Methods & Controls as a, "Sampling tool that comprises a textile, fiber or foam, on the end of a moderately flexible handle. An example is knit polyester on a polypropylene handle."
