Specificity

Precise substance detection

According to ICH Q2, specificiity of an analytical procedure can be demonstrated through absence of interference or comparison of results to an orthogonal procedure. APIC defines specificity as the discrimination of the analyte in the presence of the other impurities. In some cases, mulitple methods may be needed to achieve the correct specficity.
