Mass Spectrometry (MS)
Identifying compounds based on mass
According to the NIH, mass spectrometry is a powerful qualitative and quantitative analytical technique used to identify and quantify a wide range of clinically relevant analytes. MS measures the mass to charge ratio of the molecules. ICH Q2 states that MS is used to determine robustness of the performance of analytical procedure development.
