Cleaning Validation Glossary
Lower Solubility
Reduced ability of substances to dissolve
Lower solubility refers to the reduced ability of substances to dissolve. Substances with lower solubility need larger volumes of a solute in order to fully dissolve. An example of how this is used in cleaning validation is if the contaminations have a lower solubility, then more rinse solvent will be needed in order to remove the residues.
