Gas Injection
Introduction of gases
Gas injection is the process of using pressure to introduce gas to a system. This is commonly used in the process of Gas Chromatography where a sample is vaporized and its composition determined. During this process, an inert gas carrier is injected into the system to mobilize the vapor resulting from the sample for analysis. Other uses of gas injection include the addition of oxygen, nitrogen, or carbon dioxide to fermentation processes and the use of steam in cleaning.
