Equipment used exclusively for one product

Dedicated equipment is used exclusively for the manufacturing of a single product. Reasons to dedicated equipment may be due to the product's difficulty to clean or toxicity which may be difficult to control during product changeover activities. When using dedicated equipment it is important to recognize that even if cross-contamination with other products is redced the cleaning process must still consider residues of cleaning agents, degradants, and if applicable, bioburden and endotoxin.
