Actions taken to rectify an incident or deficiency

Corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence, generally a corrective action is part of a larger Corrective and Preventitive Actions (see CAPA) plan which is initiated as part of the procedure in handling deviations or incidents to mitigate larger negative impacts.
