Bioreactors
Devices for biological reactions
Vessels designed for the mixing of liquid media to efficiently grow microorganisms, which will then produce the desired product as the first step of the biological production process. Bioreactors typically contain agitators with impellers for mixing the media, injection ports or spargers for the introduction of nutrients either in the form of gas or growth promoting media (dry or liquid),sample port allows for a sample to be taken to determine the total amount of microorganisms or product yield in the bioreactor. Online instrument ports provide continuous monitoring of pH, DO2 and an exhaust sample to a mass spec to monitor cell respiration (oxygen update, carbon dioxide evolution, trace mineral depletion, concentration of impurities)
