Gaskets
Sealing materials
A sealing material typically made of rubber that fits between two conjoined objects that are not welded together. When the conjoined area is tightened by a method that is not welding such as using a screw or clamp, the pressure causes the gasket to expand and create a leak-free seal. The use of gaskets is common any time tubes are used to transfer liquids where a leak-free seal is necessary but permament seals are not appropriate.
